The theme of this year’s conference is “Servants for Jesus’ Sake.” “For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.” (2 Corinthians 4:5) The identity of a pastor and his self-understanding of pastoral ministry is captured in this selfless expression, “with ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.”

Pastoral ministry is not about us, but about serving Jesus Christ as Lord, and that is expressed in the way we, as pastors, serve the members of our church.
